Flamingo languages

Manchester Academy of English was established in 1991 and is British Council accredited, a member of EnglishUK and a member of English in the North.

The school is ideally located in the city centre of Manchester. We are just a few minutes on foot from the shopping centre and the main train, bus and tram terminals and are surrounded by shops and cafés.

The school has 14 well-equipped classrooms, a computer centre where students can access flat-screen computers and the Internet free of charge, WiFi, a self-access centre with book and video/DVD library, a listening centre and a student lounge with a microwave and coffee, drinks and snack machines.

The school has a qualified, experienced and enthusiastic team of teachers. We specialise in academic English including IELTS and Cambridge exam preparation. We are a Cambridge exam centre. Each student has regular tutorials with the Director of Studies to check progress and general welfare.

You will find all the staff friendly and approachable, and a staff member designated to Flamingo Languages students will be available to answer any questions you may have on gay life in Manchester.

We have a dedicated activity organiser who arranges a lively and informative social and activity programme for all our students including pub and club nights, dining out, museum and gallery visits, horse riding and excursions outside Manchester, plus we have our own school football team in a local league!
