Host family

Staying with a host family will provide you with an excellent opportunity to practice English or French conversation skills and experience Canadian culture, families and lifestyles. Our host families are located in some of the finest parts of Montreal; these homes are safe, gay friendly, inspected and approved by our Homestay Program Coordinators.

The Homestay Department takes great care to select only gay or gay-friendly host families for Flamingo Languages Students. Every home is visited and checked to ensure that upon arrival you will be happy and comfortable.

When staying with a host family, you can choose either full board (breakfast, packed lunch and dinner provided) or room only (no meals provided, but you are free to use the host family’s kitchen).

Independent Accommodation

For those of you who would rather live independently, ILSC won't let you down! We can help you to find alternative accommodation, taking into consideration your budget and needs. We work with Place Lincoln, which offers basically furnished apartments at reasonable prices. Place Lincoln is within walking distance from the school. Otherwise, many hotels, fully furnished luxury apartments and student residences are available not far from the school.

Hotel

If you would prefer to stay in a hotel, we can help you find Montreal’s best and affordable gay-friendly hotels located in the Village, Plateau, downtown or Old Montreal. These hotels offer you the utmost in comfort and relaxation. Auberge Universel, Hotel XIXe Siecle and Hotel Le Saint André are close to the Village. There are also plenty of hostels nearby, which are definitively affordable and really convenient, such as the Big Boys Guest House.
