Flamingo Languages schools offer a choice of gay-friendly accommodation options. Students can stay, for example, with a gay or gay-friendly local host. Accommodation in gay-oriented hotels or apartments can also be organised. We recognise that accommodation is a key element of any language course abroad. We therefore make it a priority to help you find the type of accommodation that is most suitable for you, to ensure that your stay is as comfortable and pleasant as possible.

The following is a list of the types of accommodation on offer:

Accommodation with a host family

Accommodation with local hosts (sometimes called “homestay”) is very popular and is an ideal opportunity to familiarise yourself with the culture of the country and to actively use the language with your housemates. Learn about local culture and special customs. Through this, broaden your cultural horizons. Whenever possible, your needs and wishes (regarding house pets, special eating habits, diet, non-smokers etc.) will be taken into consideration, so let us know if you have any special requirements.

A “host family” does not mean the traditional family with mum, dad and child. It can also be a single person, a couple, or also mum and mum or dad and dad. Therefore, you will be welcomed by either gay or otherwise, most definitely open-minded and gay-friendly people. Depending on the destination, the accommodation with locals can be booked with or without meals. Be sure to specify your needs when booking.

Residence

A further possibility is accommodation in a student residence. Here, you’ll meet young people from all over the world: parties, fun and team spirit are at the forefront. There is something for everyone. You will have a single room and share the common rooms together with the other students. There is also space available for cooking, for interesting discussions and for relaxed parties. Sexual orientation is completely secondary here and gay people are more than welcome.

Hotels

Accommodation is also available in carefully selected hotels. We look for the best hotels in the respective destinations for you, where you can enjoy excellent facilities and a relaxed atmosphere, as well as all the necessary luxury. Look forward to attractively situated, popular hotels. In addition, we work with a selection of explicitly gay or gay-friendly hotels. A wide choice and complete independence await you.

Other accommodation possibilities

Depending on the destination, other accommodation may be organised. The versatile range goes from furnished apartments to special design hotels as well as shared apartments of all kinds. For more precise details, please consult the pages of the respective schools on our website.
