Gay tourism in Berlin, Germany
Leisure
In Berlin’s gay and lesbian metropolis, you will find plenty of things to do on the weekend or in the evening. The monthly magazines Siegessäule and Sergej will give you an overview of what’s up in the capital. Every day features a programme including film, TV, dancing and nightlife.
The magazines regularly contain city maps with exact location descriptions of the newest bars and the most popular restaurants and shops. The magazines are also helpful if you get into trouble, need to see a doctor or any other problems or questions you might have. You can ask the office team about them. We’re glad to help you.
On the next pages, we’ve come up with some interesting suggestions of things to do in Berlin throughout the year. You will find an overview with the most important internet addresses and a city map for your first look around. The office team will also provide you with a free city centre map. And then you’re ready to start your own explorations.
You’re also more than welcome to take advantage of the school’s leisure time activities. Wednesdays and Saturdays are for culture time at the school. On Wednesdays we visit interesting locations in Berlin, for example museums, exhibitions, memorials or architecture tours. On Saturdays, we’re off on an excursion: a day trip to Dresden, Leipzig, Lutherstadt Wittenberg, Rostock by the sea or simply a fun trip to one of Berlin’s many lakes.
Anyone who likes cinema should come around to the English school on Mondays for the film evening. We will show current German-language films from a LCD projector. The “Stammtisch” on Tuesdays completes the school's leisure time activities. All the students meet in a cosy Berliner Biergarten in the evening and enjoy the beautiful Berlin summer nights. Everybody’s welcome!
