Accommodation
The school in Madrid offers you a wide choice of gay-friendly accommodation options, all carefully selected, as we understand that comfortable accommodation is an essential part of your study trip. When staying in one of the directly managed and arranged accommodations of the school, we guarantee that you will never be more than 30 minutes travelling time by public transportation away from the school.
Host family
Most of the host families have worked with our school since the beginning. Accommodation in a host family allows you to get the maximum out of your course. Nowhere else will you so directly experience real Spanish life. Nothing could be better to help you improve your language skills. The word “family” should not be taken too literally because your family could also be a single parent who takes in students because he or she enjoys the company.
For Flamingo Language students, the Spanisch school takes special care to select gay-friendly host families. Students can choose a room with different meal plans: breakfast only, half-board or full board. Remember that your host’s eating times and habits may differ from your own. Don’t be surprised that most families live in flats rather than in houses. You will be given your own keys, so you can come and go as you please and you will be able to receive phone calls.
Shared student flat
You share a student flat with four or five other students from the Spanish school. We always do our best to accommodate you in a student flat with different nationalities. Although the student flats are not luxurious, they are equipped with all the basic facilities (a bed, a table, chair and wardrobe). Each student flat has a living room, television, fully equipped kitchen, washing machine and an iron. In student flats there are no telephones available. You share the kitchen and the bathroom, and, together with your flatmates, keep the house clean. Shared areas are professionally cleaned once a week.
Student Residence
These residences are small, very similar to a shared student apartment, with the difference that you don’t have to cook your own meals. In this type of residence, you will share with students from all over the world, not necessarily all from the Spanish school.
Executive Premium accommodation
This type of accommodation is ideal if you want to maintain your independence and enjoy a touch of “luxury”. You will have Internet access and your room will be cleaned daily. If you stay with a host family, you will have a private bathroom. If you prefer to stay in an apartment, you will share this with a maximum of 3 other students.
Private apartment
For even more privacy, our private apartments are the best choice: private apartments are for 1 or 2 persons travelling together, are fully furnished and equipped with a kitchenette and all the necessary amenities.
There is no obligation to book any of the above-described accommodation options with your course at the Spanish school. If you prefer only to book your course at this Spanish school, and stay in a nearby local hotel, we will be happy to arrange accommodation for you in one of our recommended hotels if you contact us well in advance.
The school in Madrid is located around 20 minutes' walk away from the Gran Via and the Chueca neighbourhood, which is Madrid´s Gay and Lesbian barrio with a wide range of gay-friendly hotels and hostels.
